Fr. Arhie C. Guiriba, OFM is an eloquent, high announted preacher who earned his post graduate studies at the Ateneo Loyola House. Fr. Arhie has been assigned to a special ministry in the Fanciscan Order, specifically in the mass media - radio and television. As early as January 4, 1981, he has been regularly celebrating live Sunday TV mass over Channel 9. He currently hosts a weekly religious TV program, "Shalom" which is telecast over RPN 9 on Sundays from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.
His preachings are being aired also over the Divine Mercy channel (Destiny Cable - Channel 83)on Sundays from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. and beamed by Sky Cable and Home Cable in the Philippines and over 170 countries worldwide. Fr. Arhie's multi-media evangelism includes Shalom radio programs at DZRV and DWSS, Mondays thru Sundays at 5:30 a.m.
On May 7, 1989 he founded the Shalom International Catholic Charismatic Foundation, Inc. in which he is also the Spiritual Director. This foundation holds its weekly Mass and Healing Rally at the Quezon City Memorial Circle on Saturdays from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It also has established outreach chapters in Canada, the United States, Europe, Honkong and Singapore.
Fr. Arhie Guiriba's charismatic crusades and pilgrimages to the United States, Canada, Europe, Hongkong and Singapore and the Holy Land enhanced his special gift in the Italian, Yugoslav, Hebrew, German, Chinese and Spanish languages. While on a mission in Istanbul, Turkey on December 2-16, 1992, God used him as an instrument in the healing of a Muslim painter stricken with a terminal lung cancer.
Determined to leave no stone unturned in exploring all possible channels in disseminating the Good News of Salvation, Fr. Archie tapped the print media and electronic/digital recording tools in producing gospel songs/preachings in spreading the Good News.
On February 12, 1995 he founded the Franciscan Sisters of the Holy Spirit. Comprised of 12 young women, the ministry ushered in a new era in the religious life. A few months later, the Franciscan Brothers of the Holy Spirit was also formed by Fr. Archie. Composed of 17 young brothers, this new breen of seminarians adheres to the same pattern of formation and training as that of their counterpart, the Franciscan Sisters of the Holy Spirit.
The busiest and most-sought after preacher in town, Fr. Archie continues to touch the hearts of millions of lost and downtrodden souls with his power-filled homilies oozing with fire from the the Lord. With his disarming smile and contagious charisma, he proclaims the Word of God with gusto that hardened hearts could not resist and ignore.
What is Fr. Archie's secret? He does the possible ... study, study, study. And he leaves to God the impossibled ... the annointing of the Holy Spirit.
